Hello,

Are there any Byzantine Catholics Ukainian, Ruthenian, or other, who is a student the St. Stephen's program at the Antiochian of Studies with the blessing oftheir eparch? If not, what diaconae program are you in? Manor has closed down the distanceprogra and the Parma program is impractical for me, (10 months, once a month, 4 years in Penn, I'm in the midwest) Any suggestons?

I will say in all frankness that I was told by the chancery in no uncertain terms that taking classes in the St. Stephen's Course would not be looked upon kindly (esp. as concerned entrance into the diaconate program). There is talk of a "smart classroom" from the seminary, but I don't have an idea of when it will be available.

The online program should be up in the next year, the last that I heard.

The Melkite's have a program that goes for 4 years. Two weeks each year beginning on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
I think it is still running. That is the program I trained under.

If you are in the Ruthenian archeparchy they will not let you take this program no matter how great the need.

Their program or the highway huh? I guess it is better not to have a deacon than to have one trained by someone else.
