Greek Catholic DL Liverpool 1937 [britishpathe.com]

The link above is to an old British newsreel of a Greek Catholic Divine Liturgy celebrated in 1937 on the site of the new Liverpool Cathedral in Liverpool England. Interesting from both a GC and RC historical perspective.

Yes, it is Blessed Nikolai, and one of the very few movie clips in existence serving while a hierarch.

Indeed - it would be interesting to see if any of the other younger Redemptorist blesseds who sometimes accompanied him such as Blesseds Vasyl Velychkovsky or Zenon Kovalyk were amongst the assista.

Maybe today if they did one in the public square, they might find that their children are 'more interested' in 'religion', since they say so many are not. Lord have mercy!

Absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much for finding this and sharing it with us. I think I may try to find similar clips form archives in America. Does anyone have any hints as to where I might begin? I would imagine it came as a shock to many people in the United Kingdom who might have seen it. I'm sure many people never even knew the church existed.
