I don't know where this goes, but they are asking for prayer. I can imagine a Hungarian town being forced to view something like this nonsence, some of the worst of western culture. When I first read the caption I thought they meant that Charles Manson (I think it is his name also) was up for parole again. In many ways, this is just as bad. Why do people sell their souls to the evil.

Lord have mercy, protect, and save your people.

Churchgoers in Sopron, a Hungarian town are being called to protest against the rocker who is scheduled to perform as one of the main acts at an upcoming four day music festival, Reuters reports.

"Protest against the concert of American satanist band Marilyn Manson in Sopron," placards around the church say in red and black capitals.

The action resulted following repeated calls by the local church for the act to be cancelled. Protesters fear the performance could incite hate against Christians and provide a platform to abuse the Church and sacraments. ...

With all due respect and all feelings considered, I really wish people would stop! I wont defend him but I do know the band personally and the term Satanist certainly does not apply!

I would call him misguided and possibly disturbed, but a satanist? Don't think so.

Why don't we pray and fast for him to be converted? Wouldn't that be more Christian?

To be honest, are they really that immature that they have to go to great lengths just to stop them from coming? Just don't go for the concerts - its that simple.

If it is true that it will incite hate against Christians,
("Protesters fear the performance could incite hate against Christians and provide a platform to abuse the Church and sacraments. ...") then I say its perfectly appropriate for them to protest against Manson from coming to town! I've listened to Mason and his music is without doubt anti religion! Now in fairness, I must say my statement is a "if it is true then,...ect... " And I have no idea how people Hungry will react to Manson and his influence.

There are lots of things out there that are anti religion and anti Christianity.. why not picket against the building of a mosque?

Now, in the US, I don't know Hungarian law! We have a freedom of religion, thats why we don't picket the building of mosques.

We also have obscenity laws! Manson not only slanders religion but engages in obscenities! And I think a community has a right to decide whats decent or not. What it considers art or garbage and should be allowed to set that standard. Thinks about this, here in the US, should a Amish community be forced to allow a strip club in its area? Or should they allow Manson to perform in their area?

Maybe we might trust that those church leaders might know what Manson's influence might do to at risk young adults and don't want that type of influence in their town. I'm not so inclined to tell them whats best for THEIR community.

No one is passing a government law,...simply concerned citizens are voicing their opinion.
