I have heard that the "indulgences" are bought and they are a dispensation to commit future sin. I suppose that makes sense since he probably doesn't believe in Purgatory and would not be selling that type of indulgence.

I now remember someone telling me that we could get them from praying the rosery and I think I saw it in the back of one of the rosery books. Its not a big deal to me I was just wondering. But I thought it went back as far as the Council of Trent. Also the Anathama of 1583 is a sticking point.So are they dogma?

The Marian Rosary and derivatives (the Franciscan crown, etc) are forms of prayer, not dogmas. You are welcome to use them for all of me!
