It says in the article that some 20,000 Greek Catholics followed St. Alexis into the Russian Orthodox North American Mission. This number seems too low; the consensus figure I have heard is in the vicinity of 80,000, with a high of 125,000. Does the figure in the article refer to those who followed St. Alexis personally, or to the total number of Greek Catholics who entered the Orthodox Church as a result of the celibacy controversies in the 1890s?

17 parishes followed St. Alexis, so I think 20,000 is generous. In comparison, 37 parishes followed Metropolitan Orestes.
