Who at all is looking seriously at Ron Paul for the next presidential election?

I am beginning to feel like I missed the boat when I did not vote for Congressman Paul. I intend to remedy my mistake in the next election.

I give Ron Paul high marks for intelligence, integrity and consistency with respect to his philosophy of government. However, I cannot imagine personally supporting him for elected office since his views about the role of government in society are so radically different from my own.

Ron Paul is one of the rarest of rare commodities, an honest politician. There is much that I admire about him and his politics. But in too many respects the man is living in the 18th century. The other problem which unlike political differences really can't be overcome, is his age. On election day in 2012 he will be 77 years old. Sorry, but that's too old for the job.

Ron Paul is ambitious. I could not trust him as President.

Could you trust Huckabee if he runs again?

I for one will be supporting Ron Paul in the primaries and whoever wins the republican nomination in the general election.

With the White House's recent attempts at suppression of those who oppose it, do you really believe that there WILL be an election in 2012?

Huckabee would be a hard sale for me, though I did like the few shows of his I saw. (I don't have cable and saw it at my father-in-law's.)

I'm in a wait-and-see mode, perhaps pressure of our economic and diplomatic situation will forge a strong candidate. Someone that rides through the storm with battle tested ideas and the courage to have bold distinctions between himself (or herself) and President Obama.

But yet the Pope is over the age of 80 and is the spiritual leader of 1 billion Catholics worldwide and he wears about half a dozen hats from Bishop to Head of State and must fulfill those obligations. So really why then is 77 too old to run for President? Not supporting Ron Paul or anyone just pointing out the age issue. I don't even really know who Ron Paul is.

I shuddered to read a thread about the next election when the incumbent has been in office for a bit over 200 days. But did anyone really take note of this gem in the set? The socialists and far-leftists have a majority for the next two years, at least, and there is a lot of damage that can be done until the next congressional election let alone the next group of senators to be elected. So the man in the White House still has lots of time for his agenda. And part of it hates people and ideas and voices at odds with its own.

With all do respect to H.H. his job is not as stressful. Also +Benedict occupies a job where one is frankly expected to die in office and the Church functions even in cases where the Pope is an invalid as +John Paul Magnus was for the last couple of years of his pontificate.

The presidency ages people at more than twice the normal rate according to several studies. And after a certain point one simply can not predict ones health reliably four years into the future. Finally +Benedict does not have responsibility for the physical safety of 300 million people on his to do list. Nor does he have his finger near a button that could obliterate civilization as we know it (if not most life). Sorry. I stand by my statement. IMHO 77 is too old to be running for president.

That said, I like Ron Paul and wish him many years (in Congress).

I like "Bobby" Piyush Jindal, for president. Experience, great speaker, and leads by his convictions. He is a strong practicing Catholic converted from hindu.

Kind of related but I just bought a Glen Beck book in my universities bookstore, called Common Sense, and the young lady at the cash register attacked me for buying an Extremist book since the author called President Obama a racist ( I don't agree with such a statement but I also don't see it as extremism). I guess according to her and some I am an extremist since I an pro-life.

Ron Paul 2012!
