Lathe,
When you say "tribulation," are you speaking simply about the hardships we must all endure, or about the neo-Protestant doctrine that refers to a future period of worldwide suffering which is supposed to precede the glorious Second Coming of Our Lord?

I can recommend two books for you:
"What Does the Bible Say About the End Times?" by Fr. William Kurz and "Is Jesus Coming Soon?" by Ralph Martin.
Both set the record straight vis-a-vis the false (and very dangerous) End Times teachings of so many Protestant sects.

RIGHT ON!!!!! There is so much false teaching about the "end times". Where I live, at night you can hear many different sect broadcasts on the coming tribulation, but they all end with an appeal for money in exchange for a "blessed handkerchief"; "miracle water" etc that is all guaranteed to make you rich by the rapture time...can you imagine how wonderful that will be to be raptured and rich...OH MY !!!!!
Please know that I am being sarcastic, and I shudder to think of how many people are being fleeced by these charlatans, in the name of religion

Revelation 8:1 says that men will be in heaven a half an hour before women. Really, it does. It says, "...there was silence in heaven for about half an hour." Really. That's what it means. Doesn't it? ;-P C'mon, I'm being serious. ;-P

You may benefit from reading "Will Catholics Be 'Left Behind'?: A Catholic Critique of the Rapture and Today's Prophecy Preachers" by Carl E. Olson. Ignatius Press 2003; ISBN 0-89870-950-4
