Father, Bless. I have a simple observation and questions. It is interesting how they Nuncio is vested, especially in the latter outdoor celebration of the Eucharist; is there any particular reason for this? Is the outdoor celebration of the Eucharist a Byzantine Rite Divine Liturgy or is it a Latin Mass with Byzantine elements, because I noticed the celebration is ad populum?
peace, Ed

It was a Byzantine Divine Liturgy presided by HH Major archbishop Lucian.

Do you know why the celebration was facing the people?

I see they were giving communion separately and not by intinction. Is that the usual way? Later.... I understand now. It is a Byzantine Rite bishop in just an omophor giving communion to Roman Catholic people in a Roman Catholic church.

The old greek-catholic church of Soconzel(Satu Mare) was "incidentally" burnt because of the local orthodox priest. The church was stii in the hands of the orthodox: http://www.informatia-zilei.ro/new/2009/10/04/biserica-incendiata-la-soconzel/ http://www.informatia-zilei.ro/new/2009/10/05/momentul-prabușirii-bisericii-de-lemn-din-soconzel/

I have split off the posts related to Latinizations in the Romanian Greek-Catholic Church and added them to a thread begun by Father Coryolan in the Faith & Worship forum. Please continue that discussion there, rather than in this thread. Many years, Neil

at the right hand of the Bishop is the deacon who keep the Holy Chalice. And most probably was a communion by intinction.
