Father Edward Hinds, 61, was found murdered in the rectory of St. Patrick's Church in Chatham, NJ, after he failed to appear to celebrate morning Mass. Father Hinds had been assigned to the parish since 2003. He was vice chancellor of the Diocese of Paterson and secretary to the bishop from 1978 to 1989 and later pastored St. Michael Church in Netcong and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Boonton.

It is my understanding that Fr Ed's killer has been arrested .
Prayers for Fr Ed's repose , for all those who grieve for their much loved priest , and also for his killer that he repents and accepts his punishment .
