Thanks so much for the translation. I had guessed its content but have never studied Latin. French and Spanish (and American Sign Language) I can fake.

The most curious aspect of it, to my mind, is that the priests penned their response in Latin, while the version offered them - by someone probably much more comfortable with Latin than with English - was in English.
