It's great to know the content from byzantines.net isn't totally lost.

I just wanted to tell Memo that in researching Spanish links I came across a link to the byzantines.net site for Memo's Divine Liturgy translation from a ROCOR parish in Chile!

As part of my Thanksgiving break project, I have collated Spanish and French links (two hobbies of mine) on my blog [orthocath.wordpress.com]. There are liturgical, biblical and blog pages in both Spanish and French linked.

Interesting.

If the link from chile is this page:

www.ortodoxo.cl/index2.htm [ortodoxo.cl]

They are still pointing to the defunct byzantines.net site.

Could you please confirm? If so, then perhaps we should contact their web master so they can update their link.

Thanks.

Shalom,
Memo

Yes, that was the link. Seems there are a few dead links on that page, but it might be good to let them know of the link via the Wayback machine that Irish Melkite noted. Your Spanish would undoubtedly be much better than mine to do that.

Would would be even better is if someone would start a site that could replace the material that was lost from the old www.byzantines.net [byzantines.net] site or resurrect it?

Are there any funeral resources in Italian that we can use? We have a Melkite Jennaz service coming up and the family requested if we could use Italian for the 40th day memorial service. They are Italians by the way.

When do you need it by? I won't have time to search until this weekend. I don't speak Italian, but could try to do some searches this weekend, hoping that my meager French and Spanish would help decipher the webpages.

Collin,

I seem to recollect someone (? Matta) telling me that there was a priest in St Michael's Eparchy of Italian ancestry, who had served the Divine Liturgy for a community of Italo-Greico-Albanians.

Many years,

Neil

Ahh - and Dave will love this - Ivan Moody's UK site, always a treasure trove - has the DL in Italian and Portuguese, as well as some other of the Divine Services in various languages.

Hmm, now that you've reminded me, it is Fr. Andrea Bellia. However, I think he serves the Latins more. I will try to get hold of him though. Thank you for reminding me.

An update: the Antiochian Orthodox site in Mexico is back online here. [iglesiaortodoxa.org.mx] Of particular note is the Liturgical Services [iglesiaortodoxa.org.mx] section and a section with numerous recordings [iglesiaortodoxa.org.mx], including scores and recordings for the Divine Liturgy [iglesiaortodoxa.org.mx] and other services. The Archdiocese also includes Venezuela, Central America and the Caribbean.
