With the approval of Mother Mary's second miracle - the Pope has paved the way for the creation of Australia's first Saint.

This is indeed great news for Australian Catholics (and non-Catholics smile ) as well as Catholics world-wide.

As a side thought - remembering last week's post on Pastor Cardy and the progressive church's attempts to bring in the youth of New Zealand to the pews. I wonder if having a national Saint may encourage more young Australians to the church - as it would appear to have a more direct route to their own heritage? I would hope so, as it could be a great way to show people that shock value isn't always the way to go and that 'Pious Value' has its own merits too! I personally believe that if (soon-to-be) saint Mary brings more people into churches in Australia - then that will be her 3rd miracle.

Blessed Mary, pray for us!
