The full liturgy IS permitted... in Slavonic.

The RDL is the sole english version permitted in the metropolia.

John--do you really think that can happen that fast? Look how long it took for the RDL to be approved and sanctioned by Rome and how long it is taking for new English translation of the Roman Missal to be approved and promulgated. Making a few changes and printing some books is not all there would be. Rome would again have to review and approve the changes and then give permission for the bishops to promulgate them. Then books would have to be printed. I think that it's being naive to think that it wouldn't take long. If the bishops came back with a new revised, RDL, lots of eyebrows would raise in Rome as to why such a small church needs two revisions in such a short time.

Gentlepersons,

May I suggest that ongoing discussion of the RDL be continued on the appropriate forum and let this thread continue on its merry way, addressing the RBL (Revised Byzcath Look). Thanks.

Interesting, am just returning home after an unexpectedly extended Thanksgiving stay at my oldest daughter's. While there, I only logged on once briefly (being side-lined by an earache) - using her laptop. That was a revelation, because I discovered that there are several images on the banner that I had not seen previously.

On my elderly monitor, I had only viewed those on the extreme left and right until now - the remainder appeared to be a more or less solid banner (except for the text). Guess it's time to ask Santa for a replacement monitor.

Many years,

Neil
