Visited our seminary last night and celebrated vespers during which was included the Rite of Candidacy to the Priesthood. domilsean Orthodox domilsean Member D Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 648 Pittsburgh	Stephanos, I've been trying to figure out the origin of the dikiritrikiri for a few years now. They HAD to have a practical use way back in the day, but all I ever find is "the dikiri represents the two natures of Christ, the trikiri the Trinity." I can't believe that's the reason for a bishop to bless with tied-together lighted candles. Was it related to some kind of Roman custom or dress (like vestments are)? This puzzles me greatly.
