Axios! Axios! Axios!

Through the prayers of the Mother of God of Terebovl, St George the Trophy-Bearer, Patron of L'viv, and of St Ihor the Passion-Bearer, O Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on your Hierarch, Vladyka Ihor!

Amen!

Many years Master!

Congratulations to Archbishop Ihor!

But, how can there be an archbishop of L'viv? I thought it was one of the titles of Patriarch Lubomyr? Shouldn't he have kept all his titles, to Kiev, L'viv, Halych, and all Rus, or something like that?

Nicholas - he vacated his seat of Archbishop of Lviv upon moving to Kyiv. An excellent sign - Rome has again acknowledged Kyiv as the primatial See by this move to fill the vacancy of Archbishop of L'viv.

Question:

Does this make the new Archbishop "sencond in command" for the UGCC ?

Many Years to the worthy Archbishop !

& Many Years to Patriarch Lubomyr of Halych-Kyiv and all of Rus !

I do wish the UGCC would update the english section of their website. It still does not indicate that the title of Lubomyr Cardinal Husar has changed (it continues to list it as Major Archbishop of Lviv in numerous places).

I would really like to update my website, but I'm still waiting for an official source to indicate the change of title!
