How can anyone not be heartened by your desire to say this simple yet profound cry for mercy? Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.

Acts 10:34-35 "And Peter opened his mouth and said: "Truly I perceive that God shows no partiality, but in every nation any one who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him."

I notice that my integrity has been questioned in selected posts. I would like to address the post frequency issue by saying that I'm a university student. It's my job to study, not to post endlessly on internet forums (although I do like this one!) smile

Also, as much as some would like me to reveal this location, that's not going to happen publicly. This is a forum, hence, public. It's like a virtual form of the true forums in Hellenistic culture and so I wouldn't speak bad publicly in a forum so I won't here.

If you're really that curious to know the location I'm talking about you can send me a private message and I'd be more than happy to let you know.

Also, everyone have a very spiritually full Lent/Great Fast!

Tom,

If you haven't purchased a prayer rope by now I'd be more than happy to supply you with one. I make them and have built up quite a little inventory. You can even specify style (Greek or Russian)and bead color!

Oh what perfect timing! I've been searching for a new one to use during Lent since the one I have I accidentally left at home up in northern Colorado! If you have photos I'd be more than happy to buy one from you if I see one I really like.

Hmmm. I don't have any pictures, but I'll see what I can do. I don't make them out of the traditional wool because I don't have that kind of material available to me. I tried just buying wool yarn once, but it wasn't thick enough. I'll see about getting some pictures some time later today.

ICXC + NIKA,
Phillip

P.S. I make ropes with smaller knots as well as double-stranded ropes that produce larger knots. I also make anywhere from 12 - 150 knots. I've not yet found a long enough material to make a 300 know rope. Naturally there's a price difference, but we can talk about that after you've seen the ropes themselves.

Hi Phillip:

Why not post them here so we can all have a look?

Moderators, would there be a problem with that?

Thanks

I don't know how I'd go about doing that, but I'd be willing.

I haven't a clue how to do it. Anyone here that can help?

Phillip:

Here are the instructions on how to load your pictures to the photo gallery forum. I have never tried but others have been successful doing so. Good luck.

Converted Viking

If you wish to load photos into the photo gallery you need to have the file on your hard disk (or cd-rom). Then do the following:

1.

Click on "New Image".
2.

Add a subject and description (description = content of the post that goes with the photo).
3.

Click on "Image Manager". Browse to select the file, add a caption, then click on "Add" (and the file name will appear near the top).
4.

Click on "Done Adding Files" (and you will see "Total Files: 1" - the maximum number of photos allowed is 5).
5.

Click on "Submit" and the photo will be posted.

We recommending copying or printing these directions as they will not remain on your screen once you click on "New Image".

Currently all posts are put in an approval queue so it will not be public until a moderator approves it (usually less than a few hours time unless it is nighttime USA).

Note: If you are sharing photos you have taken and have uploaded to another website we recommend that you post in Town Hall and use the UBB Code (click on FAQ to learn how) to show one of the photos and then provide a link to your photo gallery. You may also wish to upload one or more image(s) from your hard disk to this Photo Gallery and then (in the description) provide the link to your photo gallery (or other website containing the photos). Moderators and Administrators may reject any photo for any reason (or no reason).

There is a limit of five photos per thread and one thread per topic. Additional threads on the same topic will be deleted. If you wish to share larger numbers of photos we recommend that you upload them to one of the free photo servers. Then provide a few photos here and a link to the public site where they can be viewed. Please respect copyright! If it is hosted or published elsewhere on the internet provide a link to the photo in one of the other forums.

Roman Catholicism is a disgusting, perverse, murderous, God-hating and God-fighting "religion" that comes straight from the devil. At one time they were a part of our beautiful and holy Orthodox Church; but they departed from Her a long time ago. Since then, they have done nothing but persecute the Church, and humanity in general. They have become a very great instrument of the evil one. "
Others on this forum have said that there are people in the RC that are equally hateful.

I know this to be true. I have recently been run off one forum because I posted my (Eastern) opinion about something in a Traditional Catholic Forum. And I thought to myself:
1. And I am going to want to be a member of their church because of the lovely way they talked to me.
2. Charity and forbearance are also Traditional.

I tried adding some photos of prayer ropes that I've made, but for some reason it wouldn't let me upload them. Any other suggestions? I can always e-mail them to you.

I'm sorry it's taken me so long. I was away from a functioning internet connection for awhile because I wasn't able to leave my apartment. I hope everyone is still interested in seeing what I make.

ICXC + NIKA,
Phillip

P.S. Hello Fr. Brendan! I'm glad to see you took my advice and check out the byzcath forums. I'm sure you'll find a much more welcoming community here.

Phillip,

It strikes my mind that this is likely a function of your 'newness' to the site. As you may have noticed, posts by 'newbies' require approval by a moderator prior to posting and PMs are disabled for them as well. It's a precaution designed to protect against spammers and others who register to disrupt or for other less than appropriate reasons and is lifted after a certain time period or number of posts has been passed. Although it hadn't occurred to me before now, I am relatively certain that it would also preclude uploading images by new members (that's a frequent precaution by fora, to avoid the posting of pornographic images).

Many years,

Neil
