When I was a Junior Member I was told that Private Messaging and posting without full moderation occurs about 30 days after joining.

Hang in there--you have just a couple more days to go.

church,

I moved that post to the iconostasis thread because I thought he'd be more likely to revisit that thread and see it there than notice a random thread. Keep in mind, also, that a lot of members are here less frequently during the season of Lent than they are otherwise, so it may be a few days more than otherwise before he sees it.

Many years,

Neil

Christ is Risen!! Indeed He is Risen!!

Please be patient. The administrator lifts the full moderation and activates your pm. sometimes it takes a bit of time because he gets busy and we get a backlog. Unfortunately, we've had some past problems that have caused this type of thing to be necessary.

Bob is correct. Things pile up and unless someone PMs me and asks me to update his account chances are it won't happen.

Doro's account has been updated.

Do I need to do something special to be able to PM? I use this forum often but on a very slow computer so I am not sure if it is a computer problem or a forum policy etc.

Fabian,

It's simply a matter of time. Like all forums, we have to employ precautions to guard against spammers, etc. One of the ways in which we do so is to impose a combination of time period/number of posts during which posts by new members require pre-approval by a moderator or administrator; during that same period, PM privileges are withheld.

This allows us to be reasonably certain that the poster's purpose in being here is legit and avoids problems, since most spammers, hackers, and other troublemakers won't take the time to wait out the restrictions. Be patient - we try to keep a close watch and lift the restrictions in a reasonable timeframe.

Many years,

Neil
