Let's try this again. The purpose of this thread is to announce the selection, ordination, and enthronement of a new Eparch for the Syriac Catholics in the US. The typical response to such an announcement is to proclaim the worthiness of the Eparch-elect and to prayerfully ask that God grant him many years - not to inveigh against the canonical structuring of the Church, the titling of its canonical jurisdictions, or otherwise politicize a sacred event.
We have a number of venues available in which discussion of 'one bishop, one city', hierarchical vesture, etc, can be and are discussed. A touch of civility, combined with respect for the personage and the office that he is to assume is to be expected, and I trust will be forthcoming. The tangential posts cut from this thread can be found in the East-West forum.
Many years,
Neil
