In Rusyn parishes I have gone to the tomb is low to the ground. People kneel-walk their way to it. In a Russian parish I noticed the tomb is much higher off the ground and they do the standard prostration, prostration, kiss, prostration. Is a lower tomb that is crawled to a strictly Rusyn thing or even just an idiosyncratic thing to the churches I have visited?

I would say it is idiosyncratic. For example, I posted a picture of the tomb in the photo section here from St. Michael's in Binghamton, NY of ACROD, a Rusyn parish. You have to reach to get to it. That tomb is a lighter-weight duplicate of the original dating back to 1917. https://www.byzcath.org/forums/ubbthreads.php/galleries/346481/PASCHA%20%20St.%20Michael's%20Orthodox

If it is the one I know of I have seen it myself. but it was more like walking down the isle on your knees and then prostrating.

Exactly. Walking on your knees for a bit.

The UKrainian Greek Catholic church here which we have visited on Great Friday has a hrib/tomb close to the ground and you must get down on your knees. many approached knee-walking but some stood straight as boards and knelt only to vererate the epitaphios.
