My parish will begin this week baking our own prosphora loaves, the Sister who had been doing it having suffered a fall and being unable to bake them for us any longer. A friend and I have volunteered to do this and need recommendations of where to purchase a seal to impress the loaves. Any advice is gratefully appreciated!

Check Prosphora seals. org Bread Stamps - they have an excellent selection of stamps (seals). I suggest the Russian Old Rite Stamp, which is very beautiful and makes lovely prosphora.

The same web site also has lots of information on baking altar bread.

Father bless!

I had done some looking around online and found that website; I will ask my priest which one he wishes us to use (although I agree that the Russian Old Rite stamp is very beautiful).

Thanks very much. Please pray for my friend and me as we undertake this very important task in service to God and our parish, that we may be found worthy of the undertaking.

I believe it's:

www.prosphora.org [prosphora.org]

This is the site where I buy the seals for our church. We've been very happy with their quality. (I ordered 5 seals, and Fr George threw in an extra one for free!)

There are 5 of us (3 women, 2 men) at St Melany's who rotate the baking. It's worked out quite nicely.
