It seems I broke an arm in a household fall yesterday. I ask y'all to pray for quick and loss-less healing.

I fractured the radial head of my left arm, and dislocated mildly my left wrist. Injured the shoulder mildly as well.

Owww!

Prayers for our brother's quick and full recovery and that his pain be minimal.

Prayers for healing and recovery.

I broke my left radius in Oct. They surgically put a metal "claw" around it to hold the parts together. The cast and first weeks were difficult but everything else went smoothly and I rarely notice anything now. And I'm no spring chicken. Another of our parishioners, also an older woman, had a similar break and similar surgery more recently and also is doing very well now.

God bless you and may your healing come quickly and completely in the Name of Jesus.

Thank you, everyone...

An update:

As the weekend progressed, the elbow has hurt quite a bit, but, per Dr's orders, I'm using it a little and not slinging it much... they decided not to do emergency surgery, since it was a clean break. I went to a boardgame mini-convention at a lodge some 160-180 miles away for the weekend, with the doc's encouragement. (he said, "Sounds like a good way to keep using it. Have fun, see you Wednesday. Play your banjo if you can.")

The shoulder and wrist, however, are hurting much, and I see the doc again tomorrow. The doc was planning on an MRI of the wrist; he may want a look at the shoulder, too.

The break is a clean break of the head of the radius, and so the Doc may still decide to cut; if there's significant damage to the wrist, too, that's a priority. Hopefully, the shoulder isn't badly mangled either. If nothing were to change at this point, I'd not be able to use it for much (0.5 pounds hurts to lift)... so it could be worse.

I still can't rotate the wrist without pain, and will let you all know how the appt. goes tomorrow.

No news is good news?

They took some new X-rays of the elbow; not visibly healing but not degrading, and it's still in the same spot.

They took MRI's of shoulder and wrist; contrast used. Will know more next week.

Start PT next week.

Humorous but annoying: my appt got canceled by a clerk who didn't listen, but I was seen anyway.
