Why, thank you. I do my best. If the "Church" restaurant is still in business in Stratford, go and have dinner before the play (I recommend the cold peach soup for dessert). In any event, go and visit the life-size monument to the cow.

Stuart,
Are you implying that every female present at a club is a whore?
If so, please allow me to take issue at your remark. I find it most uncharitable, prejudiced and, in my opinion, inaccurate.
Thanks.
Shalom, Memo

Not every woman in a tavern was a whore--but respectable women avoided them. For the record, I never said that the women in clubs were whores--I said they were enthusiastic amateurs. Now, some might not be, but a respectable woman would not run the risk of being mistaken for one.

Now, some might not be, but a respectable woman would not run the risk of being mistaken for one. Spoken like one who never went to one... The clubs I went to I went to for music and dancing. Nothing more. Most of the women I met there were there for the same reasons. There are some who go looking for sex... but that's not the norm for the places I've been to.

I liked Irish Melkite's answer. I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with going to a club; it's more what you, or your companions are doing, or are tempted to do, when you get there.
If you and your friends are doing the same thing weekend after weekend, maybe you can break the cycle and suggest a different activity?

Stuart,
When my wife and I go to a dance club to dance with each other, is my wife becoming a non-respectable woman?
What about me?
With all due respect, I believe you need to get out more and see for yourself what actually happens in these places. Leaving it all to our imaginations can be unfair and counterproductive.
Thanks.
Shalom, Memo

Well, whether you and your wife attend a dance club, it seems highly unlikely that you will both become non-respectable women! But never having attended a dance club myself, I can't be quite certain.

ROTFL!
Fr. Serge, you just might have defused a flame bomb. Believe me, I would never be a respectable woman.
God bless!
Shalom, Memo P.S. I am done with this thread. See ya!

I was going to say it dependent entirely on what kind of dancing you and your wife do, and what the other people in the club are doing while you are dancing.
