Nathan,

I wonder what could've changed these stances so drastically in the 1960s?

Perhaps the Masons had some sort of get-together, a council if you will, that drastically changed the direction of their group?

IMO, the Masons DID have a council
in the 1960's. It was called
"Vatican II"................

Yes, I could also have a good chuckle if only antonius was old enough then in 1960 and throughout the proceedings of Vatican II and ending in 1965.

A boy between 7 and 12 years of age could have been more concerned about sleeping over in his friend's house than distinguishing an orthodox Bishop from a mason! Heck, that boy might have had difficulty just to spell either word! wink

At this age range, how many could have distinguished between a Low Mass and a High Mass? And that both were then valid as a celebration of the TLM? cool

"Traditonal" Latin Rite Catholic? You are if you were and did live it! On my part, I was more than old enough to have served during both and, in the latter, was able to "perfect" the proper way to cense the celebrant! :p

I suspect he may be younger than both of us. But I am glad that pre-Novus Ordo rite of Mass is not dying out. It is beautiful and has a rich and profound theology behind it. I am Byzantine, but I do appreciate its value. It seems that every year that Mass appears in a few more places, which I see as a good thing.

I am "old enough" to have been an altar boy
in the pre-conciliar Roman Church and can still
do most of the altar boy responses in Latin
from memory.

I was firmly convinced that I was going to be
a priest until the real Mass was taken away
from me in the 1960's............

(so there!)

btw...if you're interested in seeing how Masonry has already infected the church, the folks at www.holyfamilymonastery.org [holyfamilymonastery.org] would be happy to show you. Click on the link about Pope Paul VI and his masonic connections.

Wow, this was the last forum I expected to see just blatant rad-trad triumphalism.

The Catholic Church is not full of masons. Claims that the pope was a mason are garbage created by those who wish to destroy the Church.

As for the "Real Mass" being taken away. The Mass can be changed and has been changed in the past.

I posted that link to show how absolutely ridiculous it is to think or worry about masonic infiltration in the church. You're right, there are much better and more important things to worry and stress out about than a bunch of old men in aprons holding meetings in buildings with no windows.
