This article states that His Beautitude has submitted his resignation to the Pope for reasons of declining health.

I know this is still speculation until the information is released, but I think it is something to think about.

I have many thoughts in my head, but I cannot make sense of them right now.

May Got grant, to the High Priest +Lubomyr, peace, health and happiness for many blessed years!

True.

I guess we won't have to wait too long for confirmation, since he's holding a press conference tomorrow:

Another report [kyivpost.com]

May the High Priest, Lubomyr, be blessed with health and many years. Prayers for our brethren of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church.

His Beatitude has been legally blind for some time. May God grant him health and many years, and bless the Synod in its coming election of a new Patriarch.

His Beatitude Lubomyr's resignation is official as of noon today Central European Time (source [press.catholica.va]).

The locum tenens or administrator is Archbishop Ihor (Vozniak) of Lviv, who will be responsible for summoning the Synod of Bishops to elect a successor to His Beatitude Lubomyr.

Prayers for His Beatitude and for the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church!

The synod date will be announced February 17th.

RISU published an article explaining some of the process.
