Thought you all might like to see the pictures that were taken at our church this past Sunday. Fr. Robert Kondratick, the Chancellor of the OCA, visited our parish. We also blessed two new large icons. Go to What\'s New [ oca.org] on the OCA website. There you will see the listing "April 12, 2005 - 2:10 PM - Photos of The Feast of St. John of the Ladder celebrated at St. Nicholas Church, McKees Rocks, PA". Click on "View Page." Fr. Tom Soroka Rector St. Nicholas Orthodox Church [ stnicholas-oca.org]

The icons are by Fr. Theodore Jurewicz, of the Old Rite Orthodox Church in Erie, PA. I personally think he is one of the top iconographers in the world. Check out the icons he did at Church of the Nativity [ churchofthenativity.net] in the Virtual Tour section. Better yet go there - it is breathtaking. Priest Thomas PS I have some other links of his I'll post.

Father Thomas, your church is very beautiful. I haven't seen Chancellor Kondratick in several years. He looks weary, but he has been travelling all over the world for many years, which will make you look that way now and then. You must be related to the Soroka whose musical settings I encountered at the local OCA church in Phoenix.

Yes, Fr. Bob is a remarkably positive and joyous person, given the great burden of his position and his extensive travels. He has literally been all over the world, mamy times, and to my knowledge has been to Russia around 80 times in his position as Chancellor. He is credited with the extremely close relationship between the Church of Russia and the OCA.
I am extremely fortunate to also call him a friend. It is an honor to know him.
Yes, my family is the one which has produced numerous books of Orthodox music.
