Questa notte nell’abbraccio del Cristo Risorto si è addormentato Papas Vito Stassi, Vicario Generale dell’Eparchia di Piana degli Albanesi e Parroco di San Nicolò dei Greci alla Martorana.

May the memory of the Lord's servant, Archimandrite Vito, be eternal and may our brethren of the Italo-Greaco-Albanian Byzantine Church sui iuris, already suffering in the failure of Rome to appoint their own bishops to them, be comforted in the loss of this priest, one of their spiritual fathers.

"One day all our ethnic traits ... will have disappeared. Time itself is seeing to this. And so we can not think of our communities as ethnic parishes, ... unless we wish to assure the death of our community."
