Thanks for pointing out the error. The source is from the Facebook page of St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral: Try here [ facebook.com]. I don't know if it'll require a FB sign-in or not. I'm updating my blog. Perhaps someone can let me know if one has to sign in to FB to read the text from St. Nicholas Cathedral. Thanks.

DT...Thank you for the reply. :-)
It is interesting that this video surfaced so quickly after the Divine Liturgy at the OCA Cathedral. I am sure that it will be the conversation of many.

Actually, it was posted by the Archidiocese of Washington to Vimeo. So, it's fairly official. I think they wanted the word out quickly to counter those spreading rumors. It's been only up about 7 hours and already has almost 1,000 views.

Sounds like an internet war is brewing. I wonder if that video will be posted on oca.org. Let's pray for the welfare of God's holy Church.

It's up on the OCA Facebook page too here [ facebook.com]. I think this is another case of social media overtaking the Internet.

Something to consider...Is social media taking over the Church?

Apparently the two threads on this have been merged. I'm not sure this is the best move as the retitled thread "Metropolitan Jonah & Synod: dilemma" assumes that the rumors started by certain individuals have some validity.
I just want to make clear that the website mentioned on the first page of this thread OCANEWS has no connection to the Orthodox Church in America. It's the equivalent of the National Enquirer of Orthodox news sources. I find it incredible to believe the author of the site has such detailed inside information or that he feels it is appropriate to make such public.
Perhaps there are differences between the Holy Synod and His Beatitude. I don't know. I do think that the website responsible for these rumors has acted disgracefully. Without any real substantiation, I don't think we should give it credence by retitling this thread to say there is a dilemma between the Synod and Metropolitan Jonah.

The main question in my mind is...who leaked this story to the foreign press on Friday? There appears to be an informant within OCA circles. How else could news of a little insignificant "retreat" for the hierarchs of the OCA in Santa Fe get to Greece?
Second, the "National Enquirer of Orthodox news sources" as you call it could now be in the hot seat for running with that Greek lead and eventually finding itself out of business. The editor is also on their Metropolitan Council. That may be not only a conflict of interests, but could be questioned. Has the (C)church become more "accountable" because of that site? The jury is out on that one.
The devil hates the Church. Did you ever notice that it is around Great Lent these things arise to destroy our peace? Let us all commit ourselves to prayer for the Church. We are all members of Christ's Body and when one suffers, we all do.

Whatever the circumstances are, may God's grace pour out in abundance on His Beatitude and the OCA.

In the spirit of Great Lent, let's let this issue alone and pray for His Beatitude, the Holy Synod of ht eOCA, and all our brethren in the OCA.

Interesting - it seems to give some credence to the rumors, but not to embrace them fully. For an article in the secular media, I'd call it more balanced than many.
As Bob suggested earlier, in the spirit of the season of Great Lent, prayers for His Beatitude, the OCA Synod, and our brethren of the OCA.
Many years,
