Hello all,
I was sadden by the news that Holy Apostles is no more. I am not here to rehash what has happened. That has already been done and closed. I want to know and maybe start what happens now and in the future. Wichita needs a Parish of our own. Anyway you can let me know off list.
Many Blessing to All

Other than one family there has been essentially no interest shown to continue the Wichita mission for about the last three years and absolutely no financial support from the community. I often made the three-hour trip (one way) for one or two people, and on several occasions no one came. If a "parish of our own" is really desired, very little interest or commitment has been shown over the last several years. You can PM me if you have any other concerns, suggestions or questions. In addition to the communities in the Topeka-Lawrence-Northeast Kansas area I am also still the administrator for the Wichita mission.

If the mission is going to be established (and exist) as a sort of liturgical curiosity shop for Latins, you will not get much support from any Greek Catholic hierarchy.

It's been a while since I've been here. Is there still a Wichita Mission? I still see there name pop up every now and then in the paper NEW STAR. Is there anything I can do to help? Thanks...

I see it’s been many years since this was posted. There is the blossoming of a small community of Byzantine Catholics in Wichita. Usually these services are posted in the Catholic Advance.
