Prince William, the future King of England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and the whole British Dominion will be married tomorrow. If any of you in America want to read about it you can see the details at http://www.bbc.com/royalwedding

It's theoretically possible; King Albert is unmarried. But there has been no indication that His Majesty plans to get married tomorrow.

Good news! Prince Albert has no interest at all in marrying King Albert. He much prefers Kate Middleton. You can't become King of the United Kingdom by marriage, anyways.

While they seem lovely people, my ancestors did fight in a war to get away from all that. I wish them well, but will neither watch nor read about the wedding.

I sure do hope this marriage will be healthier and happier than that of the groom's parents.
I fear anything I read about it I'll be reading with the same kind of morbid fascination one might read about devastating traffic accidents. Past is often prologue.

I know. It's always amusing to watch these "religious" events, where the great majority enjoy the pomp and ceremony of a faith they no longer believe or practice. I am not singling out the English, since that seems to be true nearly everywhere these days.

I'm quite sure the use of the word God and Jesus so many times will cause quite a scandal in parts of the UK

Indeed. And a happy scandal it will be. I thought the reading from Romans was magnificent, while the Bishop of London's sermon was just right.
However sickningly atheistic the UK is today, the fact that we have such occasions at all means that Christ can still be met in the public realm.
May He bless the new Royal couple.

And may the "Defender of the Faith" actually defend the faith, not only in the UK but all Christian Monarchies!

Dear Charles, While what you say is very true, perhaps each one of these meaningful Christian services can spark something in the soul of someone who is participating or watching. You never know... It was a beautiful service and hopefully the British will see this beauty and take pride in it. In Christ, Alice

Dear Father:
The current heir to the British and Irish thrones (according to the legitimate succession) is his HRH Prince Franz, Duke of Bavaria.
Prince Albrecht was his late father.
But the only Jacobite pretence that both his Father and Grandfather ever made was to put the boy princes in Scottish dress at family weddings.
I think the family have remained quite fond of Bavaria and Munich to ever consider moving to the British Isles.
Now the Hapsburg ascendancy would be another matter entirely.
Seeking your blessing, Jose.

Surely there must be a Plantagenet somewhere?

and .... he is not the king of Ireland, Ireland is a sovereign nation with no need of protestant royals ( who are actually german). the six counties of the north of Ireland are currently claimed by the "empire", but they are Irish also. There are no British Isle and the Irish are NOT British.
