Does anyone know why Elder Joseph the Hesychast has not been glorified yet? Might it have to do with the "New Calendar Controversy?" He certainly seems to have been a holy man and Saint of God.

Maybe he has been locally canonized by the Fathers of the Holy Mountain? I am sure there are countless saints whom we don't know of from the Holy Mountain.

I have also wondered why he isn't been declared a Saint by the Ecumenical Patriarch or the Greek Orthodox Church for veneration by the wider Church.

Here is an article by Elder Joseph [sgpm.goarch.org] on Prayer from St. Gregory Palamas Monastery.
