What is "chierothesia"?

Minor ordination, normally of acolytes, readers and subdeacons. It is distinguished from cheirotoneia (major ordination) by where it occurs (cheirotoneia behind the iconostasis, cheirothesia before the Royal Doors) and when it occurs in the Divine Liturgy (cheirothesia before the Little Entrance, cheirotoneia after the Great Entrance), and the prayers that are used in each rite.

I looked it up and it seems to be something like a conditional ordination.

It is interesting that the Russian Church has received Fr Alvin Kimel by Ordination (Cheritonia) and a priest of the Synod of Milan by Cheirothesia.
