..and its importance to all Christians. (This is a short video)
Take special note of Mohammed's prophecy at the end of the video. (I never knew this)
I am glad to see our Evangelical friends take note of the history of Constantinople. We are all Christian brothers and sisters and we face a huge common threat so it really is time that we all look at history. It is time we say 'never again' rather than be complacent.
I pray that this focus from one of the Evangelical world's greatest names will help us all be more united in the spirit of Christ.
We may also pray for the serious restoration of a solid Christian majority in Constantinople. The few remaining churches at the moment have no easy time.
If the allies had stayed out of Greek affairs, it might have happened in 1922. I personally don't think we will see it happen. I have have heard some call it the Greek right of return!
Thank you for posting this video link. We Catholics and Orthodox continue to have a birth rate below the "replacement" level (as do most of the Christians who watch the 700 Club, makers of this video). The shift away from Christianity is continuing to occur at this very real and nonviolent level. Some demographers think we're past the point of no return.
This is an unpopular topic, our low birth rates in Orthodoxy and Catholicism and most of the rest of Christianity, but it represents a real failure in our life of faith in my opinion and it is very clearly allowing both the secular culture and Islam to change the world we and our grandchildren will live in.
Our deacon just returned from several weeks in Constantinople, being there on the anniversary of the fall.
I have been troubled about this video from CBN and especially the ending where the implication is made that it is wrong for members of the Islamic faith to want to convert folks to their point of view (I am only talking about the concept of conversion, not how it is achieved). The thought that crossed my mind was and it is OK for Christians to convert Moslems but assiduously ignored! The video, in my opinion, smacks of hypocrisy on this issue, although considering its origin, i should not be surprised. This is another case of whose ox is being gored. Although I cited this video elsewhere, it would not hurt for all of us to remember Mark Twain's views on religion in general and triumphalism of one faith over another.

.
Or if the Greeks had not gotten greedy and attempted to seize more of Anatolia than they could hold. In any case, there are really no good or bad guys in that story--everybody was just about equally awful.

Will there be an equivalent right of return for the descendants of the Turks expelled from Greece in the exchange of populations?

Just ask any Greek, they will tell you......."but that's different...you don't understand!"
