I think there may be some here who will be interested in our latest announcement: Plans to Move [hrmonline.org].

Please keep our brotherhood in your prayers, and our sisters at Holy Theophany in Olympia, WA as well!

Very Bittersweet for those of us Californians indeed, but the positive side is that I can finally see what a cheese head is through pilgrimages/retreats that are hopefully not in the winter. laugh

Seriously, the idea that this space will allow for more vocations to the monastic life indeed makes this news positively wonderful.

I must admit to being sad about the Father's leaving Southern California. No more day trips or Frs. Nicholas and Maximos filling in for our parish priest on Sundays but the positives of the move outweigh any negative.

This move will allow the brotherhood of HRM, God-willing, to grow and that is something that will positively affect our Churches.

I like J.A. will look forward to heading to the midwest for pilgrimages but I do hope they are not in the winter. This kid from San Diego doesn't know or want to know what real winter is like.

Looks like Wisconsin is becoming the next major destination for pilgrimages. There is the recently Church approved apparitions of Our Lady of Good Help [shrineofourladyofgoodhelp.com] and the magnificent shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. [guadalupeshrine.org] Now, the HRH monks will be there!

I'm packing my bags... grin

I know this must have been a difficult decision for the monks, but it sounds like an ideal location. Being in the midwest will also make them a bit less out of reach for those of us on the East coast too. smile

I'm happy because as Father writes in the report they will now be with 3 hours of Annunciation Church.

The lake tempers some of the cold (and summer heat too), but they will definitely need a good snow blower.
