http://www.doepa.org/public/sv/gallery.php?ssid=510This parish suffered a devastating fire on the eve of Forgiveness Sunday, 2006. Attached are some pics of their Re-consecration service, the ordination of a Reader and Subdeacon, and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011. Enjoy Dn. Robert

Here is a video of the Vigil for Reconsecration [ youtube.com] , all two hours and twenty six minutes of it, the responses sung by the Choir of St. Tikhon's Seminary.

To slightly alter Dostoyevsky: "Such beauty will save the world!"

While the vigil lasted 2 hours and twenty six minutes, the next-day combination of the actual re-dedication, the ordinations, and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy lasted an additional 4 hours and 30 minutes, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. My pastor and I were invited, and attended. A Matushka with whom I am friendly commented that "you have to be from strong peasant stock to stand at services for 4 and 1/2 hours". The banquet afterwards was quite good. I sat at table with my pastor, two OCA priests and their wives, a Moscow Patriarchal priest with his wife and son, and a ROCOR priest and his son (My wife could not attend-she was working). Who ever envisioned a collection of clergy from formerly-squabbling jurisdictions sitting together like that, and getting along? The entertainment at the banquet was, IMHO, exquisite. It was provided by a Russian band from Philadelphia, featuring balalaika music. This was worth attending. Dn. Robert

P.S.
The bishop, Tikhon (Mallard) is a former Anglican (as is Metropolitan Jonah). The priest, David Cowan, I believe, is also a former Anglican.

Actually, in listening to the videos, I think the Reconsecration was before the Divine Liturgy. In re-reading, Fr. Deacon Robert's earlier post, I believe he gave the same order.

Wonderful! Thank you, Deacon Robert.

Actually, in listening to the videos, I think the Reconsecration was before the Divine Liturgy. In re-reading, Fr. Deacon Robert's earlier post, I believe he gave the same order. Vigil was held Friday night. Re-consecration was 8:30 Saturday morning. That lasted about 2 hours. Divine Liturgy then followed. Dn. Robert
