I am delighted to report that, after long planning, an Eastern Catholic mission parish in Ft. Wayne, Indiana (under the omophor of Bp. Richard [Seminack] of the Ukr. Catholic eparchy of Chicago) will be holding its first Divine Liturgy this coming Sunday, October 16th, at 10:00am in the McDougal Chapel of the RC Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (1122 South Clinton Street). All are warmly invited. The entire liturgy will always be in English sung according to Galician and Kyivan (etc.) chants. There is plenty of free parking beside the chapel, which is centrally located and easily accessible from all parts of town.

God's blessings upon all who worked to make this happen! Will you have a regular schedule every Sunday? Please let us know. We occassionally receive calls at St. Nicholas Cathedral asking if there is an Eastern Catholic Church in the Ft. Wayne area. It will be a pleasure to say yes and give them specific information as to a schedule. I will be with you in prayer on Sunday!

Wonderful news, Adam!

May the mission be successful and blessed.

Many years,

Neil

Thank you everyone for your prayers and encouragement! We started today, and had about 40 people come out. It went rather well. We are starting slowly, with liturgy once a month (in part dependent on the schedule of our priest, whose chaplaincy position takes him away on weekends) but by the new year hope to be celebrating at least twice a month. The long-term goal is every Sunday, and on feasts, during Great Lent, etc.

Our next liturgy is Nov. 13th at 10am in the chapel of the RC Cathedral downtown, where we were today, and where the very first Ukrainian Catholic liturgy was served back in 1967.

We realized we are in need of certain liturgical items, and if people know of those who might have them and be willing to donate them or sell them for a reasonable price, would they kindly contact me? In particular we need:

* cassocks and stichars for altar boys between 7 and 12 years of age
* priestly vestments in anything other than red and gold
* torches/large portable candles suitable for processions
* an Apostol book
* Gospel book
* asterisk
* diskos
* chalice and spoon

Adam
