This coming Sunday (23 October 2011) is the 19th Sunday after Pentecost and, in the absence of the parish priest, I am on deck to preach.
As far as I can make out, the readings appointed are: 2 Corinthians 11:31-12:9 and St Luke 6:31-36, but I have looked at the OCA website, Greek Orthodox (USA) website, a Russian Orthodox website, and a Melkite website, and they all seem to list different readings.
In the case of the Russian and Greek sites, they appear to compute the Sundays of Luke differently from one another.
Any suggestions as to the cause for the discrepency? Is there something I am missing with respect to the Sundays after the Holy Cross and the Sundays after Pentecost?
I am going to proceed on the straightforward assumption of the 19th after Pentecost, but would appreciate comments to the contrary in short order if I am going wrong.
