Memory Eternal! Is there a bio on Fr. Serge? It would be interesting to know more about his life.

I'm sorry for my late response, but I have nevertheless been following along and have prayed for our beloved Fr. Serge...

Lord, welcome your Priest-Servant Serge into Your Heavenly Kingdom and forgive him all his trespasses in this life.

Fr. Serge, ora pro nobis!

I'm flying over in the morning - this will be difficult for everyone present.

I'm sure we will all be glad that Fr Serge is now at peace and free of all suffering - but he will be missed

May God bless you and be with you on your journey, Anhelyna... Indeed he will be sorely missed.

Just a short line to tell you that I attended the Priestly Parastas this evening. It was both beautiful and dignified.

It was my first time to meet Anhelyna in real life and she's as lovely face to face as she is online. She asked me to convey to you that she arrived in Dublin safe and sound, is in good form if still very sad given the circumstances...

I'm just home . It's been a very emotional couple of days .

I will make a post during this week with an account of the Reception of the Body into the Church , the Parastas and the Funeral Divine Liturgy and the Burial .

Father was given a wonderful 'send off' surrounded by his 'family'. I know many people have asked if he had any family - yes he does - the whole of the Community in Dublin .

I also have some photos taken with my Point and Shoot , and they will go up in time .

Thank you, Anhelyna. Take your time; we all know that these last few days were long and emotionally difficult for you.

From The Orthodox Church - OCP Media Network

Quote
20/11/2011
The British-Eritrean Orthodox Churches

At the request of His Grace Bishop Makarios, Overseer of the North American Archdiocese of the Eritrean Orthodox Church and Bishop of the Eritrean Orthodox Church in diaspora, Abba Seraphim ordained Deacon Habtom Ftuwi, to serve the Medhane Alem Eritrean Orthodox community in Manchester.

...

In his homily Abba Seraphim spoke of the Providence of God and our need to bring our wills into conformity with His in the same way that the Mother of God did when confronted by the Archangel. He also spoke of the continuity of priestly ministry throughout the generations and in different places. This very day the funeral was taking place in Dublin of a dear friend, Archimandrite Serge Keleher of the Greek Catholic Church, who died after a long and fruitful priestly ministry.
