How very sad. Didn't Fr Vlad and his wife just move to Buffalo? I pray that they find the Gospel book at least, before it can be destroyed!

Prayers for recovery of the Gospel Book

Lead on Church roofs seems to be very attractive to thieves frown

I do hope and pray that the Gospel Book is found

Maybe the vandals will read the Gospel book and be motivated to change their ways. St. Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist (Nov. 16)certainly changed his.

Hey! maybe I'll one day change mine.

The church just had some roofing work done to the rectory. I wonder if it is related to the theft? The copper was pretty high up there for the average thief.

sam:

Christ is in our midst!!

About a year ago my daughter's parish church had thieves put a ladder on one side of the building and take down the gutters and downspouts on a Friday evening. And it sits in a neighborhood surroundered by homes. So anything is possible, given the motivation of the high price of copper and other metals, especially that given by scrap dealers.

We've had copper thieves at the lights in our parish parking lot twice, although I think only on e successfully.

Now the access panels are welded shut.

A few months ago, while the house next door was vacant for an extended period, copper thieves broke in and cut & removed all the wiring.

Morons.

This part of town has aluminum wiring . . .

Same thing happened this year to several churches in Binghamton's First Ward, including St. Michael's Orthodox and SS Cyril RCC.

Sadly, this is even worse than robbing Peter to pay Paul.
