Are there any thoughts on wether or not the "Myrrh-Streaming" icon of Saint Nicholas in the care of Father Elias Warnke is a genuine myrrh streaming icon or like the one from Christ of the Hills Monastery in Blanco which was a fraud? Thanx!

Dear Father Silouan, Greetings...Here is an article about the phenomenon of myrrh streaming icons: click here [ antiochian.org] ALSO--I also just found an old post on another forum from Father Averky of blessed memory who wrote specifically about the icon and situation you mention..it is from nine years ago, but I think it might answer your questions--scroll down to the middle of the page: click here [ monachos.net] In Christ, Alice

Father Silouan,
This icon is one of the three "myrrh streaming icons" currently in the possession of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROCOR) in the U.S. I'm curious, what would make you think it might be fake?

Rybak,
Father Archpriest Elias Warnke's parish is of ROCA, rather than of ROCOR (unless something has changed recently).
