"Anathema sit": Isn't that how Pope Leo X answered Martin Luther when he said, "Here I stand" (Cf. Roland Bainton)?

Yes--but that was a few days ago...it said that I had posted this afternoon, but there was no post!

Your forum 'name' makes me uncomfortable every time because it is now used a terrible curse in modern Greece which is used by people that are not nice at all. (It means: Cursed be you or May you be cursed!) This has nothing to do with ecclesiastical anathemas.

Can you please give us some kind of a real name to address you by?

As for your ecclesiastical anathema title,

Have you heard the joke about a person who named his dog 'Anathema' and would say: "Anathema--sit!" ??

That's like the story about the priest who had a cat named "Laetifi" after Psalm 42:4 quoted in the prayers at the foot of the altar:

( A formal curse by a pope or a council of the Church, excommunicating a person or denouncing a doctrine.)

It makes me a bit uncomfortable. smirk wink

I'm wondering too confused
