Prayers are offered.

Why do they need to interview you?

I transferred from the Roman Church to the Byzantine Ruthenian Church 3 or 4 years ago. There were no interviews. It was all done by letters and documents through the mail. I had to include a short statement about why I was transferring, but it seemed more of a formality than anything else, although I suppose if I'd said something that raised a red flag, it might have been an issue. I was told the key point is that you are changing for your "spiritual welfare." In my case, my parish priest told me he didn't see any reason why there would be any problem, and there wasn't (other than the fact that the papers got lost at the Roman bishop's office for months! but we did finally speak with a nice nun who took it upon herself to find the papers and get the bishop to sign them the very same day!)

Sounds like yet another latinky menace. I hope not...don't these people have anything better to do? If I knew someone wanted to leave my ritual Church for another, I'd hold the door open for them & wish them godspeed.

Prayers that smad's petition be favorably acted upon by all concerned and that God grant him many years in the UGCC.

The Chancellor agreed to support my petition, and on the basis of his support he expects the Bishop to grant my request. He will be meeting with the Bishop tomorrow, so a few more prayers please!!

And he said he wanted to meet with me because he just wanted to verify that there was a need for transfer.
