People say tha FSSPX doesn't have valid a Sacrament of Confession. If this is true, then can we say the same thing about the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches?

How do you make this jump in logic? The Orthodox Churches are true, Apostolic Churches that have the same Mysteries/Sacraments as the Roman/Latin Church and the Eastern Churches in communion her. They are not on any comparable plane with the schismatics in the Society of St. Pius X. This latter group is a schism from the Roman Church and derives any claim to anything from its origins in this Church. The Orthodox Churches do not need to relate to Rome for their foundation as Churches of Apostolic origin.

I haven't done tons of research into the SSPX, but I believe their sacraments are valid but illicit.

Bob provides the answer with a bit more spice than is characteristic. The only error in it is that if the SSPX were the schismatics Bob calls them, Rome would likely call their confessions valid. It is the fact that they lack (by Abp. Lefebvre's own design and intent) anything like bishops with jurisdiction that their confessions lack validity.

Djrakowski, marriage and confession are the exceptions to your observation; marriage for lack of canonical form and confessions for lack of a bishop to grant faculties.

You're right. Thanks for filling in the gap for me!

Are you really sure they are schismatic?

Why then do people talk about the great schism?
