Friends, I know I've been increasingly absent over the years and especially over the last couple of months, but that is partly due to the fact that I've devoted most of the latter to preparing for my state's bar exam, which takes place this upcoming Tuesday and Wednesday. Any prayers for my success would be appreciated! Alexis

Over the years, almost everyone has had to read - at least once - a post in which I extol this forum as a true 'family' and 'community', one of incredible diversity (usually when going off on someone who doesn't seem to 'get' what we're all about). That perception/description has frequently been dismissed as overblown.
Although I don't know that I've ever said it so explicitly, whenever I make that claim, I always have in my mind three specific examples among our members whom I consider to be incredibly illustrative of it. Father Jon (Sawicki), Father David (Mastroberte), and Garrett/Alexis all pretty much grew up here, 'in front' of us. Within the past few years, we've had the joy of seeing the former two achieve their aspirations and, now, the third is reaching out toward his. I, for one, could not be much prouder if they were my own offspring.
Prayers for our dear brother and friend, Garrett, that his studies have fully prepared him for this challenge, that he succeed admirably in the coming bar examination, and that he have a long and blessed career in which he brings honor to his chosen profession.

Second day is the Feast of St. James the Greater--may you receive the peaceable "wisdom from above" of which the Apostle wrote as you write your essays.

I agree Neil... May God bless your mind and your knowledge when taking the exams so that you pass with flying colors, Garrett! Fondly, Alice
