Vito,

Good to see a post from you, my brother. It's been a long time. Prayers that all is well with you.

The topic sounds fascinating - like so many other things posted here, I wish I was closer or that geography wasn't the barrier that it is.

And, please, please, give best wishes to my old friend, brother, and fellow forumite, Deacon Andrew, and remind him that he too is missed here (though he last posted more recently than you :p ). (And, thinking about it, I don't recollect him ever getting around to telling us that he had been ordained to the diaconate - Axios! )

Many years,

Neil

Well, that's a bit of a trip. But it's straight down the turnpike from here...so we'll see how things go. Although I'd only have two hours to get there. So as of now, I think that kind of answers that question, but keep us posted of the highlights of this meeting.

Neil, I passed on your greetings to Fr. Deacon Andrew and he was pleased to receive them. Yes, it would be nice if distances weren't a problem sometimes.
Fr. David, I was happy that you came to the meeting and it was a pleasure to meet you. As you know, your father was a presenter to our chapter sometime back.
Fr. Deacon Andrew presented an interesting and quite comprehensive talk on his subject. I heard many positive reactions.

Thank you all for the kind words and hospitality. It was an honor to present to the Youngstown-Warren Chapter regarding the small but historically significant communities of Albanian Christians of the Eastern Church in the Western lands.

With our two bishops, both consecrated in 2002, we have been celebrating 100 years of Albanian Orthodoxy in North America, as the Cathedral was founded in Boston in 1908; parishes in Jamestown, NY in 1911; Southbridge, Mass. in 1912; and next in Philadelphia and Worcester, Mass. in 1915, etc.

In 2019 the Italo-Albanians of the Greek Rite in Italy will be celebrating 100 years as the Diocese of Lungro with their new bishop. Their almost 600 years of presence in Italy represents an important historical bridge between the Eastern and Western Churches. It was my priveledge to worship and chant with them while living and traveling in Italy.

In Christ,
Dn. Andrew
