I visited St John Cemetery in Stratford CT last Memorial Day. Finally getting around to posting some pictures. It's an interesting cemetery in that both Orthodox and Catholics of Western and Eastern rite are buried there. Around town it's is thought of as the "Slovak" cemetery. There are lots of Slovaks in the greater Bridgeport/Stratford/Trumbull area. There are also about a dozen Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Rite Catholic churches in the area. Metropolitan Orestes Chornock is buried there.

St. Johns Russian Greek Catholic Cemetery and St. John the Baptist Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Ct.
Here are more photos of St. Johns Russian Greek Catholic Cemetery including interesting shots of unique early statuary at that cemetery and close ups of the cemetery chapel. Also included above the photos is a history of St. John the Baptist Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church in Bridgeport. The article and photos are half way down the page.

Love cemeteries! A life time of history consolidated into few words. An amazing place to celebrate life lived!
