I suspect that Notre Dame de Paris holds many more people than our own Cathedral of St Volodymyr. Divine Liturgy is also served in Notre Dame at least annually as far as I know - so the use of it for this occasion was to be expected. There is now a short article about it in English on RISU [risu.org.ua]

Many years to His Grace, Bishop Borys. May his flock grow constantly in number and holiness. Lucky stiffs.

Good things are happening in Europe in terms of the UGCC, and Bishop Borys is one example.

I would not be averse to some new episcopal blood being injected into some of our jurisdictions, as opposed to the old game of musical chairs.

How is he enthroned in a cathedral not his? Until recently the Antiochians in Paris also used a cathedral, which was not theirs. The funeral service of Metropolitan Gabriel Saliby was held at St Stephen's Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Paris. Later the currect Metropolitan John Yazigi was also enthroned in the Greek cathedral in the presence of the Greek Metropolitan. Of course the difference is that the Antiochians didn't have their own church in Paris at that time.

First comes the bishop, then comes the church.
