Good Evening:

Slava Isusu Khrystu!

I am wondering if any of the good members of the Byzantine Forum good give me some information about Eastern Christian Publications in Fairfax, Virginia. Are they usually quite quick about filling orders or are they rather slow. I am sure that they are very busy at this time of the year. Any input would greatly assist me.

Thank you!

John,

If he doesn't spot this thread, you can certainly PM "JLF" - Jack Figel, the owner of ECP, - who's a member here.

Many years,

Neil

Yep, I got a few things from them, primarily a Hierarchical DL DVD with Bishop John, Ruthenian Daily Vespers DVD, and the 2007 RDL book (paperback with black spiral bind).

Think of it this way, just like you have Sisters of St. Basil for the Ukrainian Resources like DVDs, books, religious icons, etc... This is what ECP is for the Ruthenian and Melkite resources. Although I thought ECP dealt with UGCC and UOC stuff, but I'm not sure that they cover them.

Jack and Sally are usually pretty good about filling orders. Especially if you've already paid. Sometimes, though, they may have to backorder a book, or have the printer run off another 20-30 copies.

Thanks to all who replied that we send orders quickly. Stuart is quite right that, depending on the product, sometimes we have to reprint or manufacture or get from another supplier. We send out orders as soon as we possibly can, given that ---

-- we are a small shop with Sally working only 2 days a week
-- I personally design, layout, manage production, and in some cases print all of our book and media products
-- I also personally shoot almost all of our video, do the editing myself, duplicate the disks, and assemble the packages
-- In addition to books and media, I also design and produce the weekly bulletin covers for 300 parishes across the country
-- Compile and design the monthly Theosis magazine
-- Compile and distribute the electronic Byzantine Daily Office

And then there are the occasional special events like hosting Metropolitan Kallistos for 3 days while he gave a lecture this evening at Villanova University, and hosting Bishop Milan Sasik of Uzhorod for 4 days while he visits my parish this coming weekend, and planning future Orientale Lumen Conferences.

We do our best, but sometimes, once in a while, an email message may not get answered right away or a product may not ship too soon.

Jack
