After moving away from the Northeast Ohio epicenter of Eastern Catholicism and settling outside of Fort Bragg, NC some months ago, I had reluctantly concluded it could be a very long time before I would be able to attend a Divine Liturgy again. The closest Byzantine church I was aware of is in Cary, an hour away. Then, I just discovered Saint Michael's in Southern Pines, and I'm excited since it is close by! Does anyone on the forum attend there or know anything about the parish? Many thanks!

Which part of NE Ohio? Here in Parma, perhaps? I'm in the process of hoping to join St. John's Cathedral at some point. Just starting to warm up to Bishop John and Fr. Hayduk, and the two deacons. They had a fun day today with the Craft Fair and everything.

If this is the place [ saintmichaelschapel.org], then they have a decent enough website, although it hasn't been updated since the enthronement of Patriarch Svyatoslav. I am happy for you, though. Let us know what you discover.

I spent my summer attending the Divine Liturgies celebrated at the Mariapoch shrine in Burton, which was lovely!

That was the family's way of learning the Ruthenian Byzantine Culture (although I think that's where those pilgrimages to Uniontown, PA really come in, but oh well).

Hannah, Glory to Jesus Christ! I'm sorry to say that St. Michael's Mission has been closed now for the past two years. There is a wonderful mission in Cary, NC - St. Nicholas - which meets at St. Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church. http://saintnicholasraleigh.org/We will be taking down the St. Michael's website this month. Apologies for the confusion...and welcome to North Carolina! God bless! Fr. Deacon Daniel
