Father James Barrand led several dozen parishioners of St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church a quarter mile along Arctic Avenue singing hymns and carrying liturgical banners and sacred icons. The procession ended at the creek for the Great Blessing of Water.

This reminds me of my childhood here in northwestern Ontario on January 19 (OS ). One year, we went to the river for the blessing in -22C with the wind off Lake Superior made it feel like -40C for good measure!!!!!
I am convinced that the whole of North America way back them, at that blessing of waters, had all water blessed smile on the continent by our priest Father Elio. (At least I like to think so )
Fantastic photos and Happy Memories ( they were frozen in time in my mind in more than one way smile
