Found this by accident: Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon (Maronite) [eparchy.org] Why can't the Eparchy follow the real norms instead of mimicking the Latin practice?

Well like all Eastern Catholic Churches it is the CCEO which says Baptism, Chrismation, and the Eucharist are to be given together. Unfortunately just about every Eastern Catholic Church besides those of the Byzantine tradition ignore this and continue to mimick Latin practice.

Fr. Deacon:

The Syro-Malabar Church is returning to Tradition and now celebrates them together.

The Syro-Malankara Church - a sister West Syriac Church to the Maronites - never stopped (although some priests/parishes started mimicking the Latins).

The most confusion/troubling part of that letter is that it states that the "first communion" should be replicated in both the Roman parochial school and again at the Maronite parish - why?

The same as the norms for everybody, including the Latins: All three sacraments of initiation administered at the same time, in the order baptism-chrismation (confirmation)-Eucharist, even to infants, who should receive the Eucharist regularly thereafter. Everything else is a pastoral accommodation, with no claim to any theological or ecumenical authority.

Not sure about that one. My parish just told the local Latin parish school it was not appropriate for out kids to take part in First Communion or Confirmation as they were not members of their parish or diocese and had received those Mysteries already. It seems we have to go though this every few years when teachers or DREs change.
